This Weighted Twistlock™ hook employs the same hook as the 5132 Twistlock™, but also features a non-movable weight attached to the shank. Designed for both fresh and saltwater fishing. The hook's added weight helps to sink or swim the bait into the strike zone. With its Twistlock™ Centering-Pin-Springâ (CPS Patened), baits can be permanently secured by inserting the pin in the center of a soft plastic, which can then be screwed on the Twistlock™ coil spring to rig perfectly everytime! Ideal for weedless style fishing without having to add a separate weight. Great for skipping or pitching into deep cover. Open gap allows for more positive hook sets. I intend to use them for rigging soft plastics like Daiwa duckfin shads (13cm) and
Fish Arrow Flash J's for our European Sea Bass here in Ireland. We fish for them
over very rough, shallow ground stacked full of gullys, reefs, kelp beds and
boulders. Hence they have to be rigged weedless but also cast reasonably well and
stay stable in rough conditions. They can also been very effective in estuaries by
'bumping' them down the current over sand and patchy ground. The light weight is
essential as it keeps it stable in chop but doesn't interfere with the action and
doesn't sink the lure too fast - we cant afford to fish any deeper than 1ft in most
situations.
Average fish can be 5-6lb with the odd exceeding 10lb. Lovely way to catch them on
very light, balanced and very sensitive gear!
