Big strong and heavy Duratin O'Shaughnessy Hooks. These are great for heavy saltwater applications including sharks and halibut --- including a 301lb halibut caught by one of our customers during our jig making days. We used these hooks exclusively in our custom and Do-It Molds requiring 12/0 hooks.

Three friends and I have a summer house on the West Coast of Vancouver Island
Canada. At least one of us is up there every week of the
summer running our '24 aluminum boat. We use the hooks for 12-16 ounce lead head
jigs rigged with Berkley big power bait worms for
Halibut and Ling Cod.

The 3551 will be used in the Do-It Snagging weighted hook mold. There is a terminal fishery/harvest area next to the local hatchery and because the fish are not natural runs, they let the general public harvest by snagging in a special man made fresh water pool just off the creek. You can legally snag anywhere in saltwater around the hatchery but never in fresh water streams, except this one location. As such these hooks are in high deman in June/July. I plan on making several for myself and selling any surplus. The 34081 will go in the Hilts Big Mojo halibut jig. The other swivels/lead snaps I had asked about are for securing 10-20lb cannonballs to shrimp line snaps and the long line.

I personally used a bunch of the Mustad 34081D 12/0's and 10/0's for Halibut and Ling Cod jigs. I shipped hundreds of pounds of jigs to Alaska and even was able to make a trip out of it myself. Caught a bunch of 20 pound yellow eye's (stopped fishing for them one our limit was caught as they tend to die on the way up), Ling cod in the 50lb range and a bunch of Halibut with one reaching 180lbs using these hooks with 12 - 24 oz jigs depending on depth and current. There is no doubt in the strength of these hooks.

Tackle company uses 12/0 34081D Saltwater Hooks for making Big Mojo jigs up to 24oz to get down deep -- great for Ling Cod, Yellow Eye Red Snapper and of course halibut to name a few!

We use these to troll for Wahoo in the Island of Roatan, Honduras, basically under
and type of lure.

The long shank is a big help to make sure it gets hooked and stay there. Very few
lost Wahoo's on these hooks.

I will use these lures to chase Barramundi, Mangrove Jack and
Flathead. they chase the mullet (baitfish) in the shallow sand bars etc up
north, and these lures look exactly like these mullet! I could not find the
'shallow' version of these over here. Barramundi can reach up to l.5 meters
long and get to around 40 kg! I will have to change out the hooks, but they
will work a treat. Alot cheaper than buying here (even with US postage)

I have time for to tell you..i bought this hooks for to fishing big CATFISHES in
brazil... so i use big hooks, is not easy to find good brand hooks in brazil, now
I'm living in canada, but next month i will come back to my country, my state we
have a lot of rivers from Amazon and Pantanal! Here in canada i didn't find good
hooks... Sometimes i caught aligators, so i really need good and strong hooks,
sometimes the fishes or gator open or break the hooks!
