thank you for the extremely fast shipping. I am going striper
fishing for the entire week in N.J. starting Sunday. I am using the
Mustag 8/0 hooks to replace some of the old rusted hooks on my Ava #47
jigs. I love these hooks for they are super sharp, hold up very well and
do not bend like some of the hooks that are on the Avas from new.

Some more info about the use of the actual hooks;

As you will see on the picture Mustad, and others who sells copies, use these hooks
to make Gummimakk or Rubber worms in English.

The bent shape of the hook makes it rotate, and it is the preferred lure here in
Norway.

It is usually used like my other picture shows, with a heavy lure at the end and
2-15 rubber worms on the tackle with some distance between each.

You choose the size and the number from which species you are after, and expected
size of the fish.

When I am Pirk fishing for Cod, big Pollock and/or Halibut I do use a 1000g steel
Pirk like the picture, and 10 Rubber Worms 8.0 or 9.0.

For smaller Pollock or Redfish I use more and smaller sized Rubber Worms like 6.0.

I am usually fishing from my boat (see enclosed picture), and very seldom using a
rod. Instead I do have a big reel mounted aboard.

I am a surf fisherman from New Jersey, I fish up and down the
coast of NJ, primarily spring and fall for stripers and blues. I am going to make my
own ava jigs. I am going to put a tube tail on the hooks and attach to a ava or
diamond jig. I am looking to save myself some money with making them versus buying
them in the store. I like to make my own tackle as much as feasibly possible. I have
begun to make sputnik sinkers, I pour my own lead for all kinds of sinkers. I tie my
own striper rigs and teasers rigs.
