This VMC® traditional round bend x-strong treble hook is forged from the finest high-carbon steel. Still today, it is the hook of choice for lure makers and fishermen looking for maximum strength and sharpness at an affordable price point. With a very wide size range including size 3 and 5, the VMC model 9650 allows you to replace the original trebles on your favorite lures with a perfect match in size and strength without compromising the original action of your lure.

I'm just fooling around trying to build a lure for ling cod and other bottom fish on the North Coast of Calif. I have used a basic prototype and caught a few good fish but my supply of treble hooks is pretty thin. Normally use 6, 8,and 12 oz lead head jigs with splittail scampies which I pour, or double hooks with live bait. The trebles will give me a 360* strike range as it is a hanging hook arrangement on the lure. Except for the hook and mono used, all parts are from the dollar store. It,ll probably be another idea that goes nowhere.
Thanx for the great service on my purchase from you

Thank you for the fast and professional service, I do appreciate it.
I own a small soft plastic company called Boggs Custom Lures. We hand
pour and hand paint many sizes of soft baits for the musky & pike
markets. If you'd like to see some of the stuff we create you can find us
on facebook under the Boggs Custom Luresor on our blog at

I have been buying the VMC treble hooks, to use on my custom
airbrushed crankbaits. I have been happy with them and have not had any complaints
from my customers. I may change in favor of something more corrosion resistant for
saltwater, as of lately the majority of my customers have been buying baits for
local bays and inshore.

I'm primarily a muskie fisherman. I'm constantly sharpening my hooks, which
eventually wears them down, also Musky fishermen often have to cut our
hooks to enable us to get the fish released quickly, so I always need to
have an assortment of large hooks on hand so I can replace the ones which
are lost or filed down to a nub. Also, I almost always need to up size or
up grade the hooks on new baits.
