I will use these hooks in a mold to make fishing lures/jigs
Mike on 12/07/2016 07:07am
I will be making 2-3oz banana jigs for black fishing. I want to try
gamakatsu hooks as well, but not sure if they will work in my do it mold.
Jed on 07/28/2015 04:34pm
Well, I'm a charter boat captain up here in Alaska. I'm ordering hooks because I'm
out of small jigs. I only wish the guy I ordered a mold from was as quick to ship as
you were.
Tom on 05/31/2014 06:25am
We use these hooks to pour bullet head do- it jigs. We run a charter on
Washington's north coast and fish Ling Cod with them.
Shane on 05/08/2014 11:37am
I will be using your hooks in some lead jigs that Im gonna make with the
help of a Do-It mold
Mike on 03/08/2014 11:46am
I use the hooks for 2-4 ounce jigs that we use here on Lake Superior for lake
trout . I generally add a stinger hook to them and of course paint them . It is a
year round presentation that works quite well
Wes on 03/03/2014 08:15am
My name is Capt. Wes Coward. I am currently a fishing guide in Kodiak Alaska yet I
live on the East Coast in North Carolina. I have developed a jig that is deadly on
halibut. i have been making them for several years and finally decided to start
selling them. I currently have about four or five captains fishing these on the
east coast and I will be back using them in Alaska in June. I use these lures on a
spinning rod coupled with a Penn slammer 560. people look at me like I am crazy to
fish a small jig with a spinning outfit for such big fish. In 16 days, I had people
catch 16 halibut over 100 pounds, 3 over 200 and one that was my personal best, at
360 pounds.

I decided to market these jigs in various size. they are not a mass produced item
and i ma just starting out. A web site is in the works as well as an Ebay
consideration. Of course, tackle shops on both coasts have been reached.

The name of the jig is the Delco Cheetah Cat. be on the lookout for tee shirts and
signs. I am hoping to market these hand tied jigs before I leave for AK.

I was perusing the ebay site and found your hooks for sale. The price was al little
lower than other places plus many folks are out of this hook. I use these for my 4/
5/6 oz jigs.

Sorry to be so long winded. You asked and as you can tell, I am sorry about this
jig. It is the real deal.

I am atatching a logo pics and a couple of jig pics. I am also giving a link to a
fish that was caught on the Delco Cheetah Cat. I think it was arouond 200 pounds.
Capt Wes on 03/03/2014 08:07am
Yeah we are fishing in 80 - 120 feet. Homer is different. Deep water long runs.

Here is the promised video.

Check out the rods I use. This fish went 170-200.

Delco Cheetah Cats all the way. I'm working on some for stripers and cobia.
Tim on 02/23/2014 03:47pm
I will use these in a bullet mold to make jigs that I will use with slug-gos to fish
for stripers
in the Cape Cod Canal
Sam on 10/30/2013 10:02am
I fish in the Chesapeake bay for saltwater striped bass. I use these in jig
heads that are trolled behind the boat. I will take a picture of a completed
one and send to you
Marco on 10/15/2013 04:15pm
These will be going in an Ultra minnow and Spire point molds.
Neither calls for this hook but I like the extra length, the Spire has been modified
to accept them.
Nick on 09/11/2013 06:18am
Will be making 4oz lead heads for ling cod.
Sean on 08/23/2013 11:01pm
These are the jig heads i make with the hooks. We troll for Striped bass in the
30-50 pound class with these Mustad jig hooks
Vincent on 06/30/2013 08:06am
I have molds i pour lead weights in and insert the hook to the mold to make 5 and 6
ounce jig heads for offshore fishing. its a great tactic for fishing red snapper,
lane snapper, and cobia.
Keith on 05/09/2013 07:43am
I make jigs with them and fish salt water with the mustad 8/0 jig hooks.
Greg on 04/20/2013 12:14pm
Our fishing club "Aquidneck island Striper team" holds regular jig making,
pouring/powder coating events. So we go through a l ot of hooks. One of our
regular supplier has been having sig trouble getting hooks for the do it molds so we
reached out to you. If you go to the club website you will see a whole host of
pictures from last event (pictures are just below Al Gags promo shot (our speaker
tomorrow night). club has 289 members, half dozen charter Captains and took second
in "On the Water" striper cup last year.
Hunter on 03/19/2013 09:49pm
I make my own custom jigs with the mustad 60 degree 8/0 jig hooks.
Tim on 03/13/2013 08:52pm
I own a jig company in Florida. I bought them as a test batch to see how
they'll do in my mold that make s2-4 ounce jigs.
Brad on 03/13/2013 08:43pm
I plan to use them to make ball shaped jig heads to use in fishing for Fluke (summer
flounder) here in the Northeast.
Round ("cannonball") sinkers are used throughout the country in fresh

Dmitry on 09/08/2012 09:58am
I am dedicated competition sea angler and losing too many
weights while fishing snugy areas. That's why I prefer to make my own
weights molding them and using jig hooks for this purpose.
Jason on 08/14/2012 10:50am
thanks for sending the hooks so quickly, My friends and i have been into 'slatwater
jigging' for quite some time and we use a lot of jigheads, especially around the
wrecks where a fish can very quickly take you into the structure if you're not on
the ball. Basically the technique is very simple, but there are a lot of variances,
you simple find some structure in the 30' to 150' range and drift over it, drop your
jig down before it, bouncing it along the bottom with varied actions, until you get
a hook up or you are past the structure, then try again.

as we have been going through so many jigheads, and they aren't cheap to buy or ship
from anywhere, we have decided to start making our own. so we bought a heap of
different moulds and a heaps of different hooks and we're going to give it a go. The
people i have been buying my jig heads from, recommend these Mustad hooks, so i
though i would spend the extra money and buy them.

i have attached a photo of one of the main target species, this is a fingermark (or
golden snapper), and was taken on a 4oz jighead with an 8/0 mustad hook and a
berkely gulp 'satay chicken' soft plastic.

Bear on 03/06/2012 09:18am
I use the to make cobia jigs. I hand wrap them for myself. I use lighter
tackle and my clients loose most of them.

I make lures to catch big red drum, stripers
Bill on 02/24/2012 01:18pm
Hi thanks for your interest in our use of your hooks. We make our own jigs
for Striped Bass that we fish in the waters around Cape Cod. In the photo
you see the hook and lead head as well as the finished lure. We did over
two hundred heads this year. We will only finish about 25 at a time each of
us. We have five of us using this jig and this should last us a few years.
The jig mold is a one of a kind it not produced Commercialy. There are
similar ones available on the market. There are fished on wire line some
distance behind the boat. Thank you for your hooks.

Marco on 02/24/2012 12:55pm
I have bought the hooks because we are going to try to catch some fish (cod,
halibut, pollack, ling) in the Norwegian fjords (close to the sea).
We will use 6 inch shads that look like small pollock, herring or mackerel. Depths
will be approximately from 60ft - 300ft (20 up to 100 meters).

I recently bought a Do-It Bullet Nose Jig Mold (2.5/3/4 oz) and I understood that
this mold is only suitable for the hooks I ordered.
I could not find these hooks in the Netherlands and I did not want to damage the jig
mold to try to use other hooks.

David on 01/30/2012 03:05am
i will be using the hooks in a mold and making bullet head jigs to use
with plastics for surf fishing and in the inlets.

Joe on 12/28/2011 01:48am
I make lead jigs out of these. They work well on cobia, strip bass or rock fish, and red drum.

Mark on 12/27/2011 03:53am
My intent with this purchase is to utilize them with a Do It Ultra minnow
jighead mold. I do a lot of flounder or fluke fishing and I use a lot of
Spro Prime jig bucktails. Other bucktails work but Spros work best for me in
1 oz, 1 1/2 oz, and 2 oz. The Ultra minnow mold most closely resembles a
Spro so that's what I've decided on. Spros go for around $5-
Bill on 12/27/2011 03:51am
I toss a lot of weightless plastics and I was tired of using worm hooks because the baits would get ripped up after a fish. Not only that, the hook quality for any heavy salt species would bend em. I checked out Owner and they had hooks with hitchhikers but it had a crappy hook. That's how I got the idea and went to Mustad and remembered the 34184 as a strong hook.

With the 8/0 I can use it with the largest Striped Bass no problem. Schoolie Blue Fin just off Boston up to 80-100lbs and still land em. Now the tuna are larger now with 150lbs-200lbs average. I now use Mustad 10/0 7691S J hook style and thread on a 12" Slug-go. Works great.
Greg on 12/27/2011 03:51am
I use the 34184D 8/0 on large plastics for a weightless presentation. The spring is a hitchhiker, center pin or holder others call it. It's perfect. I pour baits for Striped Bass and Schoolie Blue Fin Tuna and find the 34184D as a perfect hook for a weightless presentation that extends the life of the bait before it gets torn up. See picture on how I rig.
Thanks for the fast shipping.
