Saltwater Double Hook, 2X strong and super sharp, is designed for a variety of blue water applications, including use as replacement hook for jigs and plugs. This is the hook that comes rigged on all Shimano Waxwing lures. Unlike trebles, double hooks can be quickly rigged onto a lure without a split ring. Features include forged shank, high-deep gaps for less flex during hook sets, super needle points, and a vacuum-tinned corrosion-resistant finish.
I hate trebles so I replace them on my plugs with doubles.
I'm using the hooks to replace the the front and middle trebles with a single
owner on the end of my lures.
I fish for European sea bass in the UK, Ireland, and France, doubles and singles
give a better hook up chance and aid better release of fish, as 90% of all sea bass
fishermen operate catch and release, which is mandatory January to July anyway with
only one fish allowed to be kept per day July to December if you want to keep one.

I'm retired Air Force and I spend most of my time fishing or hunting. The Owner 2/0
double hook is perfect for Thai jump frog lures and small tuna lures.
These hooks are going to be used with the Shimano Wax Wing jigs. These
lures are slowly getting popular with the light tackle shore fishermen here
on Oahu, Hawaii. Most of the lures we use here are popping plug type of
lures but the Wax Wing offers the fish something different and they seem to
working well and catching on. I fish for blue fin trevally, white
trevally, and barracuda. These fish usually run between 1.5 pounds to 5
pounds. I always like to carry spare hooks on me just in case I need to
swap out hooks. Glad Shimano went with Owner hooks, one of the best hooks
you can buy in my opinion.
