Designed for light line fishing, these small circle hooks are engineered with a self setting "hangnail" point. To date this is Owner's lightest wire circle hook made. Light wire leads to smaller diameter wire for better penetration and superior bait movement. Ideal for rigging small live baits and small plastic baits. I use the circle hooks for surf perch fishing off the beach in SW Washington. Got me a 14 acre fish camp there and family and buddies use it as a base for perch, salmon and sturgeon fishing; razor clamming and getting Dungeness crabs. Quite the harvest scene.
I've had success catching perch with size 6 snelled hooks but my buddy started using the Owner circle hooks. He definitely hooks more fish. They are so sharp/pointed that they're sticky. Wish they had a barb or two on the shank to hold baits better (little pieces of tough clam necks). I just tied some rigs up last night and put an egg loop on the hook to loop over the bait. I will use them later this week.
