Owner 5114 Mutu Light Red Hooks - Size 6/0

I hand snell the hooks to 60lb fluorocarbon leader for off shore grouper and snapper
fishing. Great hook for catch and release if fish is undersized. It Hooks fish in
corner of mouth 90% of the time. Very little damage to fish. The red color looks
like blood to fish (so they say)

thanks for the rapid dispatch of the hooks. Circle hooks
are quite new to U.K. anglers and for a few years now I have been
experimenting with different types and applications. As I'm sure you are
aware, circles work best with fish that engulf the bait then swim off
allowing you to just tighten up, letting the weight of the fish set the
hook, usually nicely in the corner of the mouth. I use the traditional
long-line type circles (VMC) in large sizes for our larger sharks such as
Porbeagles and Blues. I have had great success fishing for Tope (a small,
hard fighting shark up to 80lb) and Bass (like a striper but plain silver)
using Owner 5178s in 4/0 and 6/0 with live Mackerel or cut Mackerel and
whilst looking for these hooks on ebay I noticed the 6/0 red Mutu lights. I
already use Mutu lights for some of our smaller species such as sea Bream in
sizes 6 and 4 (I catch at around 3 to 1 over those using conventional
'j'-hooks), but had never seen them as large as 6/0 or in red. I'm going to
try them as an alternative to the 5178s for Tope and Bass. I have the
standard Mutus in 6/0 but they are too heavy in the wire for these fish. The
red colour may add to the attraction in shallow water.
