Out here in Southern California, our inshore fishery fluctuates between using squid for bait, to using fin bait like sardines and anchovies.
Currently we are still using squid, and these hooks allow us to thread the squid onto the hook, which hides the hook and makes the squid look more natural.
I was using other brands, like Owner and Mustad, but I lost fish due to them opening up.
These Gamakatsu hooks being 4X strong- not a problem.
